Home /Why Are We Different
Our Process, Our Charges, Our Standards.
Clients ask the same questions in every first meeting. This page answers them in public, before the meeting.
How We Work
Every IP matter is different. Our approach is to make sure that you understand what needs to be done, why it needs to be done, and what it will cost before we proceed.
From the First Enquiry
We begin by understanding your requirements, the jurisdictions involved and the protection you need. We then provide the relevant advice, including the applicable official fees and our professional fees.
Advice Before Filing
Before filing, we review the relevant information and conduct the necessary searches. Where appropriate, we give you our assessment and recommendation before you commit. If we believe a filing is unlikely to achieve its purpose, we will tell you.
Filing and Follow-Up
Once you instruct us, we take care of the filing and keep you informed of the progress of the matter. We also monitor the relevant deadlines and advise you of any action required.
After Registration
Our work does not necessarily end when a registration is obtained. We can continue to manage your portfolio, monitor deadlines, handle renewals and assist with oppositions, enforcement and other matters.
Every published line, by country and by right.
Clear Fees Before You Instruct Us
Professional relationships are built on trust. Trust is strengthened by transparency, and transparency is reflected in clarity.

All fees in USD. Official fees are payable to the registry and are passed through at cost; our professional fee is listed separately so you can see exactly what you pay us. Figures reflect current published rates and are confirmed in writing before any work begins.
What we hold ourselves to
You hear back promptly
We aim to respond promptly and make sure your enquiry is handled by someone who understands your matter.
Diarised and monitored
Important deadlines are diarised and monitored carefully, with the necessary action communicated to you in advance.
You know what it means
We keep you informed of significant developments and explain what they mean for your matter.
A named professional
Your matter is handled by an identified professional who takes responsibility for its progress.
Where AI does the work, and where it doesn't.
Using technology where it adds value. We use technology and AI-assisted tools where they can make our work more efficient, particularly in areas such as searching, reviewing information, identifying variations of marks and handling routine tasks.
Technology, however, does not replace professional judgment. The searches are reviewed, the recommendations are considered by the professional handling the matter, and the advice provided to you remains our responsibility.
